Rockies 12, Dodgers 2:
Nolan Arenado recorded his first three major-league hits - including a home run - and Tyler Chatwood pitched six shutout innings and went 3-for-4 with two RBIs for visiting Colorado.

The Rockies did not take batting practice after a mechanical problem with their plane led to a late arrival in Los Angeles. It hardly mattered, though, as they recorded 19 hits, the most at Dodger Stadium in team history en route to only their third win in the last nine games.

With a sizable gathering of family and friends cheering him on at Dodger Stadium, Arenado recorded his first hit - an infield single - during Colorado's five-run fourth inning. One inning later, the native of nearby Newport Beach, Calif., hit a two-run shot over the center field wall to give Colorado a 12-0 lead.

Chatwood (1-0) allowed five hits and struck out five. Ted Lilly (0-1) allowed five runs (four earned) and eight hits in three frames in his second start since last May while Josh Wall was crushed for seven runs and eight hits in two innings for Los Angeles. Jerry Hairston Jr. hit a two-run homer for the Dodgers.

Wilin Rosario had three hits, including a three-run homer to cap the Rockies' four-run first inning. Jordan Pacheco had two hits and his ground-rule double with the bases loaded put Colorado ahead 10-0 in the fourth while Dexter Fowler led off the game with a homer and finished with two hits and two RBIs.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Colorado SS Troy Tulowitzki did not play and remains day-to-day with a shoulder strain. Tulowitzki left Sunday's game at Arizona after suffering the injury while sliding awkwardly into home plate. ... Los Angeles SS Hanley Ramirez was activated off the 15-day disabled list and struck out as a pinch hitter in the seventh inning. Ramirez broke his thumb during the World Baseball Classic. To make room for Ramirez, Clayton Kershaw was placed on the bereavement list for an undisclosed reason. ... Los Angeles INF Skip Schumaker made his second appearance as a pitcher by working a scoreless ninth. Schumaker's previous mound experience came Aug. 23, 2011 while with St. Louis against the Dodgers.
