Reds 2, Pirates 0: Mike Leake pitched six innings and Brandon Phillips drove in a run on a controversial infield hit as visiting Cincinnati held on for its second straight shutout over Pittsburgh.

Leake (5-2), who is 3-0 over his last four starts, struck out five and scattered seven hits while Joey Votto added an RBI single. Two relievers bridged the gap to Aroldis Chapman, who worked around a leadoff single and two-out walk in the ninth inning to earn his 14th save in 16 chances and complete the 10-hitter.

Francisco Liriano (3-2) struck out a season-high 11 while allowing one run and four hits in six innings and Alex Presley had three hits for the Pirates, who have scored one run in their last 30 frames. Liriano retired the first 10 batters - including a stretch of seven straight strikeouts.

Zack Cozart reached on an infield hit with one out in the fourth and advanced to second on a groundout. Phillips followed with a grounder to first and replays revealed Garrett Jones' flip to Liriano beat Phillips' head-first slide to the bag, but umpire Bob Davidson called him safe as Cozart raced home from second.

The Pirates had runners at first and third with none out in the eighth before Jonathan Broxton worked out of the jam. Andrew McCutchen popped out, Presley was cut down at the plate by Votto on a fielder's choice grounder by Jones and Russell Martin flew out to center field.
