Cubs 4, Phillies 3: Starlin Castro hit a tie-breaking home run to lead off the sixth inning and Cole Gillespie drove in a pair of runs as Chicago held on to win for only the fourth time in its last 21 home games.

The Cubs got the better of a battle of the bullpens after both starters labored through five innings. Philadelphia's Cliff Lee allowed three runs - two earned - on nine hits and matched a season high with three walks, while Chicago's Chris Rusin gave up three runs - two earned - on four hits.

Five Chicago relievers combined to allow only two baserunners the rest of the way, with Carlos Villanueva (3-8) pitching 1 1/3 innings for the win and Kevin Gregg working around a two-out single in the ninth for his 28th save.

Kevin Frandsen homered for the second straight game to give the Phillies a 1-0 lead with a solo shot in the second, but Gillespie's RBI single tied it in the bottom of the inning. Anthony Rizzo's error prolonged the Phillies' half of the third ahead of Carlos Ruiz's RBI double, but Michael Young's misplay allowed the Cubs to tie it with an unearned run on Welington Castillo's RBI single in the bottom of the frame.

Young, who was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers hours later, atoned with an RBI triple in the fourth for a 3-2 lead. Gillespie's sacrifice fly tied it in the fifth and Castro blasted a 1-0 fastball from Zach Miner (0-1) out to center to start the sixth.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Young, who was traded for LHP Rob Rasmussen, is batting .276 with eight homers and 42 RBIs in 2013. The 36-year-old is owed approximately $2.9 million for the remainder of the season. ... Castro's homer was his first since July 31. … Phillies OF Domonic Brown was out of the lineup for the fifth time in seven games and will have his sore right Achilles tendon examined Monday. Brown struck out as a pinch hitter in the ninth.
