Brewers 3, Cubs 2:
Jeff Bianchi delivered a two-run single with two outs in the ninth inning to help visiting Milwaukee complete a sweep of the doubleheader.

The Brewers were down to their last strike twice before Chicago closer Kevin Gregg (2-3) walked Logan Schafer to load the bases. Bianchi's looping liner glanced off shortstop Starlin Castro's glove to score the tying and go-ahead runs.

Burke Badenhop (2-3) was in line for the loss prior to the rally as he allowed a pair of unearned runs in two innings. Jim Henderson pitched around a two-out single in the ninth for his 14th save of the season and second of the day.

Tyler Thornburg scattered four hits over six scoreless innings for Milwaukee, striking out six and walking three, but the Cubs got to the bullpen - with some help from the Brewers' defense - in the seventh. Cole Gillespie and Cody Ransom both reached on errors and moved up on a passed ball before David DeJesus roped a two-run double into the gap in left-center field.

Making his Cubs debut, Jake Arrieta matched Thornburg until surrendering Juan Francisco's solo homer in the fifth. The former Orioles prospect allowed just one run on two hits over six innings.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Arrieta became the 45th player to appear in a game for the Cubs this season, eight shy of the club record set last year. … Chicago C Dioner Navarro went 3-for-4 after C Welington Castillo was 3-for-4 in the first game. … The Cubs have blown 22 saves and lost nine games after entering the ninth inning either tied or ahead.
