Twins 7, White Sox 4: Brian Dozier and Justin Morneau homered and Kevin Correia worked 6 2/3 solid innings as Minnesota held off visiting Chicago.

Josh Willingham drove in a run and scored twice for the Twins, who have taken the first two games of the series. Correia (6-4) allowed two runs on five hits while striking out six.

Alejandro De Aza homered leading off the game for the White Sox but Chris Sale (5-6) could not hold the lead. The left-hander was reached for four runs on eight hits in five frames to suffer his fourth straight loss.

Minnesota went on top in the second when Dozier came up with two on and two outs and drove a 1-0 fastball into the left-field seats. Trevor Plouffe added an RBI single to make it 4-0 in the third and Willingham singled in the sixth in front of Morneau, who belted a slider from Duente Heath out to right for his first homer since April 28.

Dayan Viciedo singled in a run in the seventh and Adam Dunn’s two-run single in the eighth cut it to 7-4. Glen Perkins struck out two in a perfect ninth to earn his 18th save and lock up the win.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Correia did not walk a batter and has issued just 13 free passes in 88 1/3 total innings this season. … Morneau briefly received the silent treatment from his teammates in the dugout after his home run. … White Sox OF Alex Rios went 0-for-3 and is 3-for-20 in the last five games.
