Braves 5, Pirates 0: Julio Teheran took a no-hitter into the eighth and Gerald Laird and Evan Gattis homered as Atlanta won its fifth straight to finish a three-game sweep of visiting Pittsburgh.

Teheran (4-2) didn't allow a hit until pinch hitter Brandon Inge tucked a single inside the left-field line with two outs in the eighth. The rookie allowed just the one hit and two walks over eight innings and racked up a career-high 11 strikeouts.

Pirates starter Wandy Rodriguez (6-4) left in the first inning with tightness in his left forearm and was scheduled to fly back to Pittsburgh to be examined. He was charged with one run on two hits and recorded only one out.

Chris Johnson's RBI fielder's choice in the first put the Braves on top and Gattis and Laird hit solo shots in the sixth. Freddie Freeman and Dan Uggla added RBIs in the seventh.

Teheran retired the first 11 batters before walking Andrew McCutchen with two outs in the fourth. He did not allow a runner to reach second base.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Braves SS Andrelton Simmons went 2-for-5 to extend his hitting streak to 11 games. … Laird's home run was his first since May 28, 2012, with the Detroit Tigers. … The Braves' last no-hitter was thrown by Kent Mercker in 1994.
