Blue Jays 9, Braves 3: Edwin Encarnacion hit a three-run homer as part of a five-RBI performance, and Mark Buehrle threw six strong innings as host Toronto cruised past Atlanta.

Colby Rasmus and J.P. Arencibia added two-run homers in support of Buehrle (2-3), who limited the powerhouse Atlanta lineup to a run on five hits while fanning six en route to his first victory since April 15. Adam Lind and Jose Bautista each scored twice as Toronto improved to 5-3 on its nine-game homestand, which wraps up Tuesday afternoon.

Evan Gattis belted a two-run homer while Atlanta starter Tim Hudson (4-4) was rocked for six runs on eight hits over six innings, falling to 0-3 in his last four starts. It was just his fourth defeat in 17 career starts against Toronto, and his first since June 28, 2008.

Toronto jumped ahead in the second inning after Lind led off with a double - ending a nine-pitch at-bat - and Rasmus followed two batters later with a shot to the second deck in right field. Encarnacion padded the lead in the third with a single up the middle that scored Melky Cabrera and Bautista.

An Andrelton Simmons RBI single put Atlanta on the board in the fifth, but Toronto responded an inning later as Arencibia ripped a Hudson offering over the center-field wall to score Lind ahead of him. Encarnacion made it a rout in the seventh with a blast to left off Colby's brother Cory, who was making his second major-league appearance.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Gattis has homered in four of his last seven games, with two of those blasts coming as a pinch hitter. ... Blue Jays 3B Brett Lawrie left the game in the sixth inning after sliding awkwardly into second base on a successful stolen base attempt. Lawrie finished 2-for-3 to raise his average to .209. ... The Rasmus siblings faced off in the seventh, with Colby lashing an opposite-field double to left. Cody was charged with three runs on three hits over two innings of work.
