Blue Jays 12, Red Sox 4: Emilio Bonifacio broke out of a prolonged slump with three hits, including a homer, and Jose Bautista went deep twice as visiting Toronto trounced Boston.

Bonifacio, who came into the game mired in a 3-for-37 funk, came within a triple of hitting for the cycle as the Blue Jays belted five home runs en route to their second series victory of the season. The offensive surge made a winner out of Chad Jenkins (1-0), who held Boston to two runs on seven hits over five-plus innings in his first start of the season.

Red Sox counterpart Ryan Dempster (2-4) was tagged for six runs on seven hits over five frames for his first career loss against a team from his native Canada. Mike Napoli and Pedro Ciriaco homered in defeat as the Red Sox finished 2-5 on their seven-game homestand.

Munenori Kawasaki put Toronto on the board in the second with a single to right field that brought home Adam Lind and Bonifacio. Bautista extended the lead in the third with a blast into the last row of the Green Monster seats for his eighth home run.

Bonifacio made it 5-0 in the fourth with his first home run as a Blue Jay, a shot that barely cleared the right-field wall. Edwin Encarnacion tacked on a solo shot over the Green Monster in the fifth to counter Napoli's blast to center an inning earlier, Brett Lawrie homered to left in the sixth and Bautista registered his 18th career multi-homer game with a drive to left with a man on later in the inning.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Red Sox RF Shane Victorino was shaken up after hitting the wall in pursuit of Bonifacio's home run. He remained on the ground for a few minutes before getting back to his feet and remaining in the game. ... Five of Napoli's seven home runs in 2013 have come against the Blue Jays. ... Toronto returns home for a two-game interleague series against the San Francisco Giants while Boston hits the road for a nine-game trek beginning Tuesday in Tampa Bay.
