Diamondbacks 4, Giants 3: Eric Chavez ripped a walk-off RBI single in the ninth inning as host Arizona evened its three-game series with San Francisco.

Willie Bloomquist singled off Sandy Rosario (3-2) to open the ninth before advancing to second on Adam Eaton's sacrifice. Paul Goldschmidt was walked intentionally before Chavez drilled a first-pitch fastball to center to plate Bloomquist and end the game.

Miguel Montero and Bloomquist had RBI singles and Gerardo Parra added a sacrifice fly during a three-run fourth inning. Martin Prado recorded three hits to extend his hitting streak to seven games for the Diamondbacks, who defeated the Giants for just the fifth time in 14 meetings to remain six games behind Cincinnati in the race for the second wild card in the National League.

Brad Ziegler (8-1) retired the side in order in the ninth inning to pick up the win.

Gregor Blanco homered and Marco Scutaro added an RBI triple before scoring on Buster Posey's two-out single in the seventh inning. Hunter Pence collected three singles to extend his hitting streak to eight games for the Giants.

Counterpart RHP Ryan Vogelsong permitted identical numbers in six innings. ... Montero snapped a scoreless tie in the fourth by lining a single to right field to plate Prado. Montero came around to score and give Arizona a 3-0 lead on a single by Bloomquist, who was tagged out at second to end the inning. ... San Francisco CF Angel Pagan scored a run for the second straight game since being activated from the 60-day disabled list.
