Diamondbacks 8, Padres 1: A.J. Pollock homered, doubled, drove in three runs and scored three to help visiting Arizona end a four-game losing streak.

Arizona left-hander Patrick Corbin (4-0) allowed one run and five hits in seven innings to continue his streak of lasting at least six innings and allowing two earned runs or less in every start this season. Cody Ross added two hits and Paul Goldschmidt two sacrifice flies for the Diamondbacks.

San Diego starter Clayton Richard (0-4) had his third straight poor outing, getting pulled after allowing seven runs (five earned) and seven hits in 3 2/3 innings, boosting his ERA to 8.54. Chris Denorfia had two hits for the Padres, including a solo homer in the seventh to spoil the shutout.

Richard, who came in 6-0 in his career against the Diamondbacks, stayed in the game as Arizona scored six runs in the second inning. The first six batters reached base to start the inning, including a throwing error by Richard on Corbin’s sacrifice attempt that scored a run and put runners on second and third.

Pollock hit a two-run ground rule double to right center to give the Diamondbacks a 5-0 lead and he later homered with one out in the fourth to extend the advantage to 7-0.
