Blue Jays 5, Orioles 4 (10):
Mark DeRosa hit the game-tying single in the eighth and brought home the winning run in the 10th as visiting Toronto knocked Baltimore out of the American League playoff race.

DeRosa's opposite-field single to right field off Francisco Rodriguez (3-2) scored Jose Reyes, who was nearly picked off second base one batter earlier. Sergio Santos (1-1) threw a scoreless ninth to earn the win while Casey Janssen worked the 10th to secure his 34th save.

The loss, combined with Cleveland's 5-4 win over the Chicago White Sox, eliminated the Orioles from playoff contention. Baltimore has lost six straight games.

After Toronto opened the scoring in the second inning on Ryan Goins' RBI infield single, the Orioles used the long ball to draw even in the third. Brian Roberts launched a Todd Redmond offering over the right-field fence, and Nate McLouth made it back-to-back homers with a blast to nearly the exact same spot.

Baltimore starter Chris Tillman made the lead stand - retiring seven straight to end his night - but the Baltimore bullpen couldn't hold it, as Brian Matusz allowed DeRosa's game-tying single to right in the eighth.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Tillman limited Toronto to a run on five hits while striking out nine over seven strong innings. Redmond allowed two runs on eight hits over 5 2/3 frames. ... Orioles 3B Manny Machado learned Tuesday that he avoided tears to any of the major ligaments in his knee and is expected to be ready for the start of next season. The 21-year-old, who suffered what appeared to be a gruesome injury Monday night against Tampa Bay, batted .283 with 14 homers, 71 RBIs and 51 doubles this season. ... Toronto leads the season series 9-8.
