Giants 9, Rockies 3: Matt Cain snapped a two-game losing streak with 7 1/3 solid innings and red-hot Buster Posey hit a two-run homer as San Francisco won for only the second time in its last 10 games at home.

Cain (11-5), who was honored prior to Friday's game for pitching the first perfect game in franchise history June 13, won for the first time since July 15 and improved to 4-0 in his last five home starts against Colorado. He allowed two runs, seven hits and struck out six, and helped his own cause with an RBI single.

Hunter Pence stroked an RBI double - his first hit at home as a Giant - and Angel Pagan delivered a two-run triple as San Francisco beat Colorado for the 14th time in the last 18 meetings.

The Giants went back in front of the Dodgers by one game in the National League West. Los Angeles lost at Miami 7-3 on Saturday.

Posey was 2-for-4 and leads the majors with a .443 average since the All-Star break. He has nine homers and 32 RBIs during that span.

Colorado rookie Drew Pomeranz (1-7) hasn't won in six starts and suffered his fourth loss in that stretch. He allowed four runs and six hits in four innings.

The Giants scored twice in the second inning on a sacrifice fly by Joaquin Arias and Cain's two-out single to center.

Posey made it 4-0 in the third inning when he hit a 1-1 pitch into the first row in left-center field. Pence delivered a two-out double in the fifth.

The Rockies loaded the bases with none out in the sixth inning, but scored only once. After Josh Rutledge's RBI fielder's choice, Carlos Gonzalez lined out hard to first baseman Brett Pill and Cain caught Ramon Hernandez looking at a fastball on the outside corner.

San Francisco increased its lead to 8-1 in the sixth inning when Marco Scutaro followed Pagan's triple with an RBI single.

Rookie DJ LeMahieu hit his first major league homer in the eighth inning for Colorado.
