Dodgers 6, Rockies 4: Matt Kemp blasted a three-run homer and Chad Billingsley pitched into the seventh inning as the host Dodgers salvaged the final game of the three-game set.

Kemp had three hits and raised his batting average to .351 for Los Angeles, which remained 1 1/2 games behind National League West-leading San Francisco.

Billingsley (8-9) remained unbeaten in four starts since the All-Star break, giving up four runs on seven hits over 6 1/3 innings. Kenley Jansen worked a perfect ninth for his 22nd save.

The Rockies scored twice in the first inning when Eric Young Jr. opened the game with an inside-the-park home run and Tyler Colvin added an RBI single. Young had two hits and went 8-for-14 with five runs scored in the series.

Los Angeles grabbed its first lead of the series in the bottom of the first when Shane Victorino singled and Mark Ellis walked before Kemp belted his 17th home run off Jeff Francis, who allowed three runs in four innings.

D.J. LeMahieu’s RBI single tied the game in the fourth, but Los Angeles answered with a run in the fifth and two in the sixth off Carlos Torres (1-1). Ellis, who walked three times, drove in the Dodgers’ sixth run with a single that scored Victorino from first base.

Young continued his recent tear with an RBI single in the seventh and robbed Hanley Ramirez of extra bases with a diving catch in the bottom half of the inning.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Dodgers were 3-for-6 with runners in scoring position after going 0-for-13 in the last two games. … Dodgers INF Adam Kennedy went 2-for-4 in his rehab game with Triple-A Albuquerque on Wednesday, and he’s expected to rejoin the club Friday. … Rockies C Wilin Rosario was hitless in three at-bats in his first start in the series. …The Rockies secured their first series victory at Dodger Stadium since September 2010.
