Diamondbacks 10, Rockies 7: Pinch hitter Mike Jacobs hit a game-tying RBI single in the eighth inning and Aaron Hill snapped the deadlock two batters later with a three-run homer, as visiting Arizona posted its seventh win in eight games while dealing Colorado its ninth consecutive loss.

Wil Nieves went 4-for-5 with an RBI, Jake Elmore drove in two runs and Hill finished with three hits for the Diamondbacks, who remained 4 1/2 games behind St. Louis for the second wild-card spot in the National League with 10 contests remaining.

Arizona let a 3-0 lead disappear and found itself trailing before pinch hitter John McDonald ignited the winning rally with a leadoff single in the eighth. Jacobs plated McDonald with a base hit three batters later and Hill - who has eight RBIs thus far in the series - sent the eighth pitch of his at-bat against Matt Belisle (3-8) over the left-field wall for his 24th blast and a 7-4 advantage.

Matt Albers (1-1) notched the win with a scoreless inning in relief of Ian Kennedy, who yielded four runs and nine hits over six frames. J.J. Putz recorded the final out for his 32nd save for the Diamondbacks, who have registered 33 runs and 48 hits over the first three contests of the four-game series.

Charlie Blackmon and Tyler Colvin each drove in two runs while Wilin Rosario and DJ LeMahieu had three hits and an RBI apiece for the Rockies, who have lost 16 of 18 and must win five of their last 10 games to avoid their first 100-loss season. Rosario has recorded four consecutive three-hit performances.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Colorado C Dexter Fowler was kept out of the starting lineup due to a sore wrist. ... Arizona 3B Chris Johnson left the game for a pinch runner in the second inning after being hit on the hand by a pitch from Jeff Francis. ... Diamondbacks C Miguel Montero was rested after making 20 consecutive starts but entered as a pinch hitter in the eighth inning and struck out.
