Diamondbacks 6, Rockies 2: Joe Saunders combined with two relievers on a three-hitter while Chris Young and Miguel Montero drove in two runs apiece as Arizona extended its home winning streak to eight games.

Saunders (5-6) yielded two runs and three hits in seven innings while striking out a career high-tying nine en route to his first win since June 10. Making just his third start following a month-long stint on the disabled list, the left-hander made just two mistakes, allowing a pair of two-out solo homers by Michael Cuddyer.

Young belted a two-run shot in the fifth inning for a 4-1 lead and Montero delivered a two-run single in the seventh to cap the scoring for the Diamondbacks, who have won five straight overall and have scored 58 runs over their last seven contests.

After Cuddyer gave Colorado a 1-0 lead in the fourth with his 13th blast of the year, Young drew a leadoff walk in the bottom of the frame, stole second and scored on Stephen Drew's single.

Arizona took the lead two batters later when Willie Bloomquist hit a shot to deep left-center that was snagged by a fan reaching over the wall. Following video review, the umpires awarded Bloomquist a ground-rule RBI double.

Colorado starter Edwar Cabrera (0-2) allowed only two runs and four hits but walked four and threw 81 pitches in just 3 1/3 innings.

Reliever Josh Roenicke recorded the only other hit for the Rockies, who have lost six of seven.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Cuddyer's two-homer performance was the eighth of his career and second this season. He also went deep twice on June 13 against Oakland. ... Arizona made a pair of trades in less than 24 hours, sending RHP Barry Enright to the Los Angeles Angels for a player to be named or cash late Monday night and shipping INF Ryan Roberts to Tampa Bay for minor-league INF Tyler Bortnick on Tuesday. Roberts was designated for assignment earlier in the day after INF John McDonald was activated from the disabled list.
