Mariners 1, Dodgers 0:
Kevin Millwood pitched the first six innings and five relievers finished off a combined no-hitter for host Seattle.

Charlie Furbush recorded two outs, Stephen Pryor (1-0) got one, Lucas Luetge retired one, Brandon League took out two and Tom Wilhelmsen got the final three in the first combined no-hitter in Mariners history.

Millwood had struck out six and walked one through six innings but aggravated an apparent groin injury while warming up for the seventh. The veteran right-hander threw a solo no-hitter as a member of the Philadelphia Phillies in 2003.

Pryor walked the first two batters in the eighth and they moved up on James Loney’s bunt against Luetge. Former closer League came on with runners on second and third and struck out the next two batters.

Wilhelmsen worked a 1-2-3 ninth to complete the no-hitter and lock down his third save.

Scott Elbert (0-1) came into a scoreless game for Los Angeles in the seventh and struck out the first two before running into trouble. Ichiro Suzuki reached with a broken-bat single and stole second. Elbert walked Dustin Ackley before allowing an RBI single to Kyle Seager.

Dodgers rookie Nathan Eovaldi matched Millwood with six scoreless innings, allowing five hits and walking two while striking out six.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The last combined no-hitter also came during interleague play, when six pitchers for the Houston Astros joined forces to shut down the New York Yankees on June 11, 2003. … Seattle has not had a no-hitter since Chris Bosio beat the Boston Red Sox on April 22, 1993. … The Mariners were the victim of a perfect game by Chicago White Sox right-hander Phil Humber on Apr. 21. … There have been four no-hitters in the majors this season.
