Athletics 10, Angels 4: Bartolo Colon allowed one run in seven innings to win his third straight start and host Oakland swatted four home runs to snap a three-game losing streak.

Derek Norris hit a two-run homer and Jonny Gomes, Adam Rosales and Josh Reddick added solo shots as the Athletics moved a half-game ahead of Los Angeles in the American League West and into a tie with Baltimore for the second wild card spot.

Colon (9-8) retired 16 of 17 batters at one point and stretched his scoreless streak to a career-high 22 1/3 innings before allowing an unearned run with two outs in the seventh.

Angels rookie sensation Mike Trout clubbed his 20th homer in the eighth, becoming the fifth player since 1918 to go deep on his 21st birthday. He also became the youngest player in league history to have 20 homers and 20 stolen bases in a season. Erick Aybar added a two-run blast in the ninth.

C.J. Wilson (9-8) lost his fourth straight decision, surrendering six runs on nine hits in five innings to remain winless in his last eight starts.

A two-run error by Angels third baseman Alberto Callaspo led to a four-run third inning for Oakland, which turned it into a laugher when Norris and Rosales smacked back-to-back homers in the sixth for a 9-0 lead.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Norris' homer was originally ruled a double but was overturned upon video review. Rosales' blast was his first since June 25, 2011. ... Trout joined Ted Williams (1939), Frank Robinson (1956), Alex Rodriguez (1996) and Jason Heyward (2010) as the only players to homer on their 21st birthday. ... The Athletics activated INF Cliff Pennington (elbow) from the 15-day disabled list and sent RHP Pedro Figueroa to Triple-A Sacramento. Pennington is expected to be in the lineup Wednesday. ... Los Angeles' Mike Scioscia managed his 2,055th game Tuesday, tying Felipe Alou for 50th on the all-time list. ... Oakland RHP Brandon McCarthy is scheduled to come off the DL and start Friday's game at the Chicago White Sox. ... Athletics rookie Yoenis Cespedes was back in the lineup at designated hitter. He is nursing a sore right wrist.
