Angels 5, Athletics 0: C.J. Wilson gave up one hit over eight innings and Albert Pujols belted his fourth home run as visiting Los Angeles snapped its three-game losing streak.

Wilson (5-4) allowed only Cliff Pennington’s single to right center field with one out in the fifth inning. Ernesto Frieri pitched the ninth inning in relief of Wilson, who threw 125 pitches and struck out seven with two walks.

The Angels scored three runs in the first off Graham Godfrey (0-4), who gave up four runs over three innings. Los Angeles beat Oakland for just the third time in eight games this season.

The Angels extended their lead in the fourth inning when Pujols homered off Godfrey for his first career home run against the Athletics. Travis Blackley followed Godfrey and threw 3 2/3 scoreless innings for the Athletics.

Pujols, who is batting .213 after going 1-for-4, has homered against every team in the majors except for the Orioles and Rangers.

The Angels’ Erick Aybar left the game after being hit with the bases loaded in the seventh inning. He was diagnosed with a right knee contusion and is listed as day-to-day.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Pujols’ home run was the 449th in his career, which ties him for 35th all-time with Vladimir Guerrero and Jeff Bagwell. … Jemile Weeks, Kurt Suzuki and Josh Reddick were each out of the Athletics’ starting lineup in advance of Wednesday’s day game. ....
