Diamondbacks 5, Reds 3: Miguel Montero drove in four runs and visiting Arizona scored four times in the first inning to snap a three-game losing streak.

Arizona rookie Wade Miley (10-5) earned the victory, allowing eight hits and three runs in 5 2/3 innings. J.J. Putz pitched the ninth for his 17th save, ending the Reds’ six-game winning streak.

Arizona jumped all over Cincinnati starter Bronson Arroyo (4-6). After Arroyo allowed three consecutive singles to start the game, Montero doubled to deep left field with the bases loaded, clearing the bases and putting the Diamondbacks ahead 3-0.

Justin Upton capped the first-inning uprising with a single, scoring Montero to make it 4-0.

The Reds rallied on Brandon Phillips’ first-inning double, scoring Todd Frazier, and a two-run single in the second from Drew Stubbs to pull within 4-3.

Montero added a solo homer, his ninth of the season, in the third to push Arizona’s advantage to 5-3. He finished 3-for-4.

Arroyo allowed five consecutive hits to start the game. He lasted only three innings, surrendering eight hits and five runs with one walk and two strikeouts.

Cincinnati kept the Diamondbacks from padding their lead with a wild ending to the top of the seventh. Cincinnati reliever Bill Bray threw a wild pitch while issuing an intentional walk to Chris Young. Montero tried to score from third base, but Reds’ catcher Ryan Hanigan flipped to Bray, who tagged out Montero to end the inning.

Arizona 3B Willie Bloomquist finished 3-for-5. … Phillips and Stubbs each finished with two hits for Cincinnati.
