Charlie Blackmon homered and Drew Pomeranz tossed five shutout innings to snap a 13-start winless streak as host Colorado won its third straight game.

Pomeranz (2-9) gave up three hits with three strikeouts for his first career win at Coors Field in his 11th home start. The game was delayed by rain for one hour and 23 minutes in the seventh inning.

Jason Berken (0-2) yielded six runs in four innings for Chicago, which fell to 0-15 on the road against National League West teams.

The Cubs have dropped eight of their last nine games and need to win four of their final seven games to avoid 100 losses. Chicago was outhit 10-5 and went 0-for-9 with runners in scoring position.

The Rockies scored two runs in the first and drew clear with four runs in the third when Blackmon belted a solo homer and Chris Nelson singled in two runs before Tyler Colvin scored on Andrew Brown’s double-play grounder.
