Rockies 12, Tigers 4 (10): Wilin Rosario hit the tiebreaking two-run single in an eighth-run 10th inning as visiting Colorado snapped a season-worst eight-game losing skid.

Rosario’s bases-loaded chopper off Jose Valverde narrowly eluded the reach of Detroit shortstop Jhonny Peralta as the Rockies recorded their first victory in 10 interleague games this season.

Carlos Gonzalez hit a mammoth three-run homer later in the inning off Luis Marte and Michael Cuddyer capped the uprising with a homer to left.

Matt Belisle (3-2) pitched two scoreless innings and Chris Nelson homered and had three RBIs for the Rockies, who had 16 hits and set a franchise record for most runs in an extra inning.

Cuddyer led off the 10th with a single to right and advanced to third when Valverde (3-2) made a poor lob throw to first on a sacrifice bunt by Eric Young Jr. Todd Helton was walked intentionally to load the bases.

One out later, Rosario hit the decisive bouncer with the Detroit infield playing in for the force at the plate. Dexter Fowler added a sacrifice fly and Marco Scutaro delivered a run-scoring single prior to the back-to-back homers.

Colorado took a 2-0 lead in the third on Nelson’s run-scoring triple and Fowler’s RBI double.

Detroit answered with three in the bottom of the inning on run-scoring doubles by Austin Jackson and Miguel Cabrera and an RBI single by Prince Fielder.

The Rockies went back ahead on Nelson’s two-run homer to right in the fourth. Brennan Boesch’s infield out in the sixth tied the score at 4.

Colorado’s Jeff Francis allowed four runs and eight hits in 5 1/3 innings. Tigers starter Casey Crosby gave up four runs and six hits in 3 2/3 innings.
