Angels 3, Indians 0: Jered Weaver pitched seven scoreless innings and Howie Kendrick homered and scored twice as Los Angeles won for the 16th time in its last 19 road games.

Weaver (9-1), who got out of a bases-loaded jam with none out in the seventh inning, won his third straight start since coming off the disabled list and improved to 5-0 with a 1.52 ERA in eight starts in Cleveland.

Weaver allowed five hits - three in the seventh and eighth innings - and retired 11 straight batters at one point. He left after yielding a pair of singles to lead off the eighth, and reliever Scott Downs got Asdrubal Cabrera to hit into a double play and Jason Kipnis to fly out. Downs also pitched a perfect ninth for his seventh save in nine chances.

Ubaldo Jimenez (7-7) allowed three runs, eight hits and walked four in 7 2/3 innings for the Indians, who fell two games behind the Chicago White Sox in the American League Central. Jimenez walked Alberto Callaspo with the bases loaded and two outs in the eighth inning to make it 3-0 after putting Mark Trumbo on intentionally.

The Angels broke through against Jimenez in the fifth inning when Erick Aybar’s sacrifice fly drove home Kendrick, who singled, stole second and advanced to third on Bobby Wilson’s single.

Kendrick homered with one out in the seventh inning, a shot over the left-field wall four pitches after Callaspo was caught stealing.

Santana threw out two runners attempting to steal and also picked off Albert Pujols, who tried to advance two bases on a wild pitch but was caught too far off second in the sixth inning.
