Tigers 7, Indians 5:
Miguel Cabrera belted a two-run home run and host Detroit snapped a three-game losing streak.

Brennan Boesch added two hits and an RBI to help Tigers rookie left-hander Casey Crosby earn his first major-league victory.

Crosby (1-1), making his second career start, allowed three runs on five hits and three walks in 5 1/3 innings as Detroit beat Cleveland for the first time in six meetings this season.

Tigers closer Jose Valverde pitched a perfect ninth to notch his 10th save in 13 chances after Joaquin Benoit escaped a bases-loaded jam in the seventh and stranded runners at second and third in the eighth.

Asdrubal Cabrera and Jose Lopez drove in two runs apiece for the Indians, who were attempting to sweep the Tigers for the second time.

Cleveland starter Derek Lowe (7-4) was rocked for seven runs on nine hits in five innings to lose for the third time in his last four starts.

The Tigers jumped on Lowe for four runs in the first inning on five singles, including RBI base hits by Prince Fielder, Delmon Young and Don Kelly.

Boesch delivered an RBI double in the fourth before Miguel Cabrera launched his 13th homer for a seemingly safe 7-1 lead.

The Indians chipped away with a pair of runs in each of the sixth and seventh innings, closing to 7-5 on Asdrubal Cabrera's two-run double off Phil Coke, who failed to retire a batter.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Indians SS Michael Brantley extended his hitting streak to 15 games and Asdrubal Cabrera has hit safely in nine straight games. Fielder extended his hitting streak to 14 games. ... Tigers CF Austin Jackson will start a rehab assignment at Triple-A Toledo on Friday. ... Both teams will visit National League teams for the start of interleague play. The Tigers will head to Cincinnati while the Indians face reigning World Series champion St. Louis.
