White Sox 8, Twins 2:
Dayan Viciedo homered and had four RBIs and Alex Rios also hit a two-run shot as host Chicago continued its dominance of Minnesota with a three-game sweep.

Jake Peavy (8-7) improved to 5-2 at home with only his second win in his last 10 starts overall for the White Sox, who scored 22 runs in his previous nine outings. Provided with plenty of support Wednesday, Peavy allowed two runs (one earned), six hits and struck out six in six innings.

Kevin Youkilis and Paul Konerko drove in runs for Chicago, which has won 14 of the last 18 meetings with Minnesota and 10 of its last 11 games at home overall. Youkilis left the game in the fourth inning with a sprained ankle.

Nick Blackburn (4-6) lost for the second time in his last 10 major league starts – both to Chicago. He allowed eight runs and 10 hits in 4 1/3 innings.

Viciedo, who finished with three hits, delivered a two-run single in the second inning to give the White Sox a 2-1 lead.

Trailing 4-1, Minnesota threatened to have a big inning in the fourth, but settled for one run. Joe Mauer led off by reaching on an error by left fielder Viciedo and Josh Willingham walked. Justin Morneau followed with an RBI double before Peavy struck out Ryan Doumit, Brian Dozier and Alexi Casilla.

The White Sox regained the momentum in the bottom half when Viciedo’s two-run homer landed just over the center field wall to make it 6-2.

Chicago’s Adam Dunn led off the fifth inning with a double that short-hopped the right field wall and one out later, Rios connected for his 16th homer – and sixth against Minnesota this season – to give the White Sox an 8-2 lead.
