Dodgers 2, White Sox 1: Dee Gordon had a walk-off RBI single with two out in the 10th inning as Los Angeles rallied to take the rubber match of a three-game interleague series that saw each contest decided by a single run.

With one out in the extra frame, Tony Gwynn Jr. hit a shallow fly ball that turned into a triple when Chicago left fielder Jordan Danks tried to make a diving catch and failed. The White Sox got Matt Treanor to ground out to second base, but after an intentional walk to Bobby Abreu, Gordon laced a 1-0 pitch from Matt Thornton (2-5) into left to end the game.

The Dodgers had pulled even against White Sox closer Addison Reed in the bottom of the ninth. Abreu led off with a base hit and moved to third on a one-out single by Elian Herrera before scoring on a sacrifice fly by Juan Rivera.

Ronald Belisario (3-0) pitched two innings of hitless relief for the win.

Chicago took a 1-0 lead in the top of the sixth inning when Brent Lillibridge led off with a single to left, took second on an error by Herrera, moved to third on a groundout and scored on a two-out single by Dayan Viciedo. The Dodgers appeared to tie the game in the bottom of the inning on a Herrera flyout, but third base umpire Jerry Meals ruled that Treanor left the base too early.

Both starting pitchers were outstanding. Chicago’s Jose Quintana pitched eight scoreless innings, scattering five hits and striking out six without a walk and throwing just 77 pitches before being pulled for Reed. Chris Capuano struck out 12 in eight innings for the Dodgers, giving up six hits and walking one.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Los Angeles manager Don Mattingly was ejected for arguing the pivotal call in the sixth inning. ... Chicago’s last shutout win against the Dodgers was thrown by Mark Buehrle exactly seven years ago to the day ... Reed had converted all eight of his save opportunities before failing to hold on Sunday.
