Nationals 8, Brewers 2: Steve Lombardozzi ripped a three-run triple in the second inning and Edwin Jackson tossed seven shutout frames as visiting Washington moved 20 games over .500 for the first time since the 1994 season when the franchise was based in Montreal.

Adam LaRoche homered for the third straight contest and Michael Morse had a pair of RBI singles for Washington. Ryan Zimmerman added a run-scoring single and joined Jackson by scoring twice for the Nationals (59-39), who matched a season high with their sixth straight victory. Washington also snapped an eight-game skid at Milwaukee to record its first win since July 28, 2009.

The free-falling Brewers (44-54) have dropped a season-high seven in a row.

After LaRoche opened the scoring with his 19th homer, Lombardozzi capped the four-run second inning by depositing a changeup from Yovani Gallardo (8-8) down the line and into the right-field corner.

Staked to an early lead, Jackson (6-6) put it on cruise control to snap a modest two-game losing skid. He allowed eight hits and struck out four before Henry Rodriguez yielded Carlos Gomez's two-run homer in the eighth.

Gallardo suffered his second straight loss after permitting seven runs on as many hits in five innings.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Milwaukee general manager Doug Melvin acknowledged that the team is fielding trade inquiries for star pitcher Zack Greinke. The 2009 American League Cy Young Award winner is scheduled to pitch on Sunday, though Nationals manager Davey Johnson admitted he would be surprised to see that happen. ... Washington SS Danny Espinosa went 0-for-4 to see his 11-game hitting streak come to an end. ... The Nationals improved their road record to 31-20, which leads the majors. ... Milwaukee activated C Jonathan Lucroy from the 15-day disabled list prior to the game. He went 1-for-3.
