Dodgers 7, Mets 6: Matt Kemp hit a two-run homer and Luis Cruz added his first career blast as visiting Los Angeles knocked around Johan Santana and held off New York.

Andre Ethier, Juan Rivera and Jerry Hairston Jr. each added an RBI and Aaron Harang (7-5) stuck around long enough to earn a win for the Dodgers, who have won back-to-back contests following a four-game slide.

Los Angeles did most of its damage in the first three innings, getting to Santana (6-7) for three runs in the opening frame alone. Bobby Abreu led off with a single and Kemp followed a flyout by smashing a Santana fastball off the facing of the upper deck in left field.

The Dodgers added a run on Hairston’s RBI single in the first and went up 4-2 in the second when Santana walked Ethier with the bases loaded.

Santana struggled into the third, allowing a leadoff single to Hairston in front of Cruz. The journeyman shortstop sat on a changeup and belted his first home run in his 196th career at-bat, sending the deep fly out to left field.

Santana was lifted for a pinch hitter in the third and charged with six runs on seven hits to suffer his third straight loss. The former All-Star has allowed 19 runs in 12 2/3 innings over his last three turns.

New York chipped away with runs in the fifth and sixth and pulled to within 7-6 when Jordany Valdespin sent a pinch-hit two-run blast into the front row in the seventh.

But Ronald Belisario worked a scoreless eighth and Kenley Jansen pitched a scoreless ninth for his 17th save.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Dodgers have reportedly made a trade offer to the Chicago Cubs for RHP Ryan Dempster. They are one of several teams interested in the veteran pitcher. … Los Angeles could be close to getting some of its own pitchers back as well. Both Chad Billingsley (elbow) and Ted Lilly (shoulder) threw in the bullpen before Friday’s game. Billingsley could return as soon as Monday. … The Mets traded INF Omar Quintanilla to the Baltimore Orioles for cash considerations.
