New York starter Dillon Gee was in line for his third consecutive victory, but Bobby Parnell gave up Carlos Ruiz’s pinch-hit game-tying homer with two out in the seventh. Ruiz connected for his seventh homer of the season after Brian Schneider doubled off Gee, knotting the score at 3-3.

New York took a 3-1 lead in the sixth. Scott Hairston doubled to left with one out. Two hitters later, Lucas Duda connected on his sixth homer of the season, a two-run shot to right on the first pitch from Philadelphia starter Cliff Lee.
