Mets 6, Rockies 5 (11): Ike Davis singled in the go-ahead run in the top of the 11th and David Wright stayed hot as visiting New York outlasted Colorado and took the rubber game.

Johan Santana dominated through six innings and Kirk Nieuwenhuis drove in a run for the Mets.

After squandering its second lead in the 10th, New York jumped right back on Matt Belisle (1-2) in the 11th. Wright, who had driven in a pair earlier in the game, led off with a single and moved to third on Lucas Duda’s single before crossing on Davis’ hit.

Ramon Ramirez worked the bottom of the frame for his first save.

The Mets had jumped back on top in the 10th against Belisle when Nieuwenhuis laced an RBI double down the line in left.

But Frank Francisco (1-1) could not get the job done in the bottom of the frame, surrendering a solo home run to Carlos Gonzalez to knot it back up at 5-5.

After Jon Rauch loaded the bases in the eighth inning, left-hander Tim Byrdak came on to face the left-handed hitting Todd Helton, who stepped in as a pinch hitter. The move backfired when Byrdak left a 2-2 slider over the middle of the plate and Helton belted it into the right field seats, tying it at 4-4.

It was the 17th grand slam of Helton’s career.

The late innings obscured a strong performance from Santana, who struck out five and walked three while surrendering only two hits in a scoreless outing.
