Braves 3, Mets 2 (10): Brian McCann's line-drive sacrifice fly scored Martin Prado with the tiebreaking run in the 10th inning as Atlanta completed a three-game sweep in New York.

McCann belted his 20th homer of the season in the sixth, then hit a deep liner to right field off Bobby Parnell (4-4) with the bases loaded and one out in the 10th. Prado scored easily from third to give the Braves a 3-2 advantage.

The Braves, who have won five in a row, pulled within 5 1/2 games of Washington in the National League East. Atlanta leads St. Louis by 5 1/2 games for the top NL wild-card spot.

Peter Moylan left the tying run stranded at third in the 10th for his first save. Craig Kimbrel (1-1) struck out two in the ninth to get the victory.

The Mets opened the scoring in the fourth. Daniel Murphy, who finished with three hits, lifted a bloop double to right-center. Two batters later, Murphy scored on Ike Davis’ infield single.

The Braves responded in the fifth. Jose Constanza hit a ground-rule double to right, and Michael Bourn’s single to center two batters later tied the game at 1-1.

McCann’s solo homer gave the Braves a 2-1 advantage, but Atlanta starter Tommy Hanson allowed a run-scoring double by David Wright with two outs in the bottom of the inning to knot the game.

Hanson struck out five, walked one and allowed two runs on four hits. New York starter Chris Young gave up two runs on five hits with four walks and seven strikeouts in six innings.

GAME NOTEBOOK: In his final regular-season game in New York, retiring Atlanta 3B Chipper Jones did not start. He drew a four-pitch walk in the ninth, then left the game for a pinch runner to a loud ovation from the crowd at Citi Field. … Moylan picked up his fourth career save and first since June 26, 2010. … McCann has homered in consecutive games after not going deep since July 27. … New York has scored three or fewer runs in its last 10 home games. … The Mets host Washington next, while the Braves head to Milwaukee.
