Rockies 6, Braves 0: Jordan Pacheco homered and drove in two runs as visiting Colorado won for the fifth time in eight games.

Carlos Gonzalez hit his 22nd homer, a solo shot in the fourth off Atlanta starter Tommy Hanson (12-8). Pacheco hit his fourth homer leading off the fifth, and added an RBI single in the eighth. Carlos Torres (4-1) picked up the victory in relief with three scoreless innings.

The Braves lost for the 11th time in 17 games, falling 7 1/2 games behind Washington in the NL East after the Nationals defeated the Chicago Cubs 11-5. The Braves lead the Cardinals by two games and Los Angeles by 3 1/2 games in the race for the top NL wild-card spot.

Hanson allowed five hits and two runs in 5 2/3 innings with two walks and eight strikeouts. The right-hander is 0-3 in four starts since returning from the disabled list in mid-August and has pitched six innings just once in that stretch.

Colorado broke it open in the seventh. Dexter Fowler singled home D.J. LeMahieu, and Torres scored on a wild pitch. In the eighth, Pacheco drove home Tyler Colvin on a single and Chris Nelson scored on an error by Atlanta’s Jason Heyward.

Pacheco, Gonzalez, Fowler and LeMahieu each finished with two hits for the Rockies, who have averaged 8.8 runs per game in their past five victories.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Colorado P Rex Brothers struck out four in two innings of relief. Starter Drew Pomeranz scattered five hits in three shutout innings. … The Braves committed three errors, their most since posting four errors on April 9 at Houston. … Atlanta 2B Dan Uggla, mired in a three-month slump and benched last weekend, grounded out as a pinch-hitter in the seventh. … Freddie Freeman, David Ross and Chipper Jones had two hits each for the Braves.
