Marlins 4, Braves 2: Jose Reyes extended his hitting streak to 19 games, and a three-run first helped Miami end Atlanta’s seven-game winning streak.

The Marlins had lost 10 of their past 13 games coming in and had been outscored 15-3 in losing the first two games of the series at Turner Field. But Miami collected five hits in the first inning in winning for just the fourth time since July 18.

Carlos Zambrano (6-9) earned the victory in relief of starter Wade LeBlanc. Reyes singled in the top of the fifth to extend his hitting streak, finishing 2-for-4.

Atlanta starter Ben Sheets (3-1) had allowed just one earned run in his first three starts, but the Marlins busted through in the top of the first.

Carlos Lee’s single to right brought in Emilio Bonifacio. David Murphy scored on Greg Dobbs’ single to center, and Bryan Petersen’s single to right scored Lee as the Marlins took a 3-0 advantage.

The Braves pulled within 3-1 in the bottom of the second on Paul Janish’s double to center, scoring Freddie Freeman. Miami extended its lead to 4-1 on Martin Prado’s error in the fourth.

Zambrano allowed two hits and one run in 1 2/3 innings. LeBlanc, making his first start of the season, allowed one run on five hits in 4 1/3 innings. Steve Cishek pitched the ninth for his fifth save.

Sheets lasted 6 2/3 innings, allowing 11 hits and four runs (three earned) with one walk and eight strikeouts. Freeman went 3-for-4 and newly acquired outfielder Reed Johnson finished with two hits.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Reyes is hitting .347 (26-for-75) during his hitting streak. … The Marlins scored more than three runs for just the third time in the past 14 games. … Atlanta CF Michael Bourn did not start for just the second time this season. Jason Heyward played center while Johnson started in right. … The Braves placed RHP Jair Jurrjens on the disabled list with a strained right groin. ... Atlanta allowed more than three runs for the first time in nine games.
