McCann belted his ninth homer of the month, and his seventh lifetime off Nolasco, while going 2-for-5 to finish the month 21-for-71 (.296) with 21 RBIs.

Kris Medlen (2-1) pitched five innings in his first start since 2010, limiting the Marlins to a run on four hits.

The Marlins scored in the first on Donnie Murphy’s third homer of the season, a solo shot to right-center with one out. Medlen settled down from there, walking one and striking out three while throwing 40 of his 57 pitches for strikes.

Nolasco allowed seven hits and four runs in five innings, walking four and striking out six.
