Brandon Morrow pitched six shutout innings and Edwin Encarnacion knocked in five runs, including a grand slam in the eighth inning, as Toronto defeated visiting Seattle to snap a four-game losing streak.

Morrow (2-1) struck out a season-high nine, scattering five hits against the Mariners, who saw their four-game win streak end.

Encarnacion also had a sacrifice fly in a three-run third inning and has a team-leading 19 RBIs. Adam Lind, who was 4-for-27 with no RBIs the last eight games, also doubled home a run in the third.

Seattle had two runners on with one out in the fifth, but Morrow struck out Brendan Ryan and got Chone Figgins on a ground out to end the inning. Morrow also struck out Jesus Montero with two on and two out in the sixth.

Mariners starter Kevin Milwood (0-2) allowed seven hits and three runs over seven innings. Millwood dropped to 2-8 lifetime against the Jays.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Toronto slugger Jose Bautista earned his 10th RBI on a fielder’s choice grounder that was booted, but is hitting .187. … Seattle’s Michael Saunders had four extra-base hits the first 17 games and has five the last five, including a double on Saturday. …Toronto has beaten Seattle nine of the last 11 games at home.
