Angels 10, Red Sox 3: Kendrys Morales and Chris Iannetta homered as host Los Angeles pounded Zach Stewart and continued its dominance over Boston.

Torii Hunter added three hits and two RBIs and Erick Aybar drove in a run and scored twice for the Angels, who piled up 14 hits in running their record against the Red Sox to 5-0 this season.

Stewart (1-3), who was acquired from the Chicago White Sox in the Kevin Youkilis trade in June, was making his debut for Boston after being recalled from the minors and barely escaped the first inning. The first four batters recorded hits off Stewart in a four-run first, with Hunter and Albert Pujols each driving in a run before Morales took a first-pitch curveball and hammered it halfway up the stands in right for his 17th blast.

Hunter added an RBI single in the second and Los Angeles rallied for four more runs in the third to turn it into a rout. Alberto Callaspo and Aybar each doubled in a run before Iannetta’s two-run homer capped the uprising.

Stewart was pulled after the third and charged with nine runs on 10 hits.

C.J. Wilson (10-9) was not at his best for the Angels but used the big cushion to pick up his first win since June 26. The veteran left-hander went six innings, allowing three runs on eight hits while striking out four and walking a pair.

Mauro Gomez had three hits for Boston, which fell to 9-18 in August.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Los Angeles pulled to within 3 1/2 games of the second wild-card spot in the American League. … Angels 2B Howie Kendrick extended his hitting streak to 15 games with a 2-for-4 effort. … The Red Sox are expected to recall RHP Daniel Bard from Class AAA Pawtucket on Thursday. Bard was demoted in June after posting a 5-6 record with a 5.24 ERA in a failed conversion to starting pitching. He went 3-2 with a 7.03 ERA in 31 relief appearances for Pawtucket. … Boston RHP Scott Atchison (elbow) and LHP Rich Hill (elbow) are both hopeful of returning in September.
