Angels 14, Red Sox 13: Kendrys Morales lined a tiebreaking homer to lead off the 10th as visiting Los Angeles outlasted Boston in a wild contest to complete a three-game sweep.

Los Angeles rebounded from an early six-run deficit, racked up 20 hits without injured Albert Pujols (calf) and used a three-run ninth to overcome Boston's 11-9 lead before winning in extra frames.

Morales homered off Alfredo Aceves (2-8), who blew the two-run ninth inning lead. Vernon Wells delivered a run-scoring double later in the inning before Ernesto Frieri (2-0) allowed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the 10th. Frieri ended the contest by striking out Adrian Gonzalez.

Dustin Pedroia had five RBIs for the Red Sox, including a three-run homer, as Boston built an early 6-0 lead.

The Red Sox, who had 18 hits, tallied twice in the bottom of eighth to take an 11-9 lead on run-scoring singles by Jacoby Ellsbury and Pedroia, but the Angels rallied for three runs in the ninth as Wells hit a one-out homer, Torii Hunter had a tying RBI single and Mark Trumbo singled in the go-ahead run.

Frieri blew the save by allowing Cody Ross’ game-tying homer to lead off the bottom of the ninth.

Los Angeles erased Boston’s six-run lead by sending 13 batters to the plate in the third. Howie Kendrick had a run-scoring single while two bases-loaded walks and a fielding error by Red Sox third baseman Pedro Ciriaco allowed Los Angeles to pull within 6-4.

Chris Iannetta tied the game with a two-run ground single to left. Mike Trout and Hunter added run-scoring singles to cap the inning.

Boston pulled within 8-7 on a fifth-inning single by Ross and then tied the score in the sixth on a homer by Mike Aviles. The Red Sox took a one-run lead later in the sixth when Ellsbury lofted an opposite-field double off the left-field wall.

Trout grounded a single up in the middle to tie the score at 9-9 in the seventh. Trout stole two bases to raise his major-league leading total to 41.

Pedroia and Ciriaco had four hits apiece for Boston.
