Red Sox 7, Blue Jays 4:
Nick Punto had three hits and two RBIs and Felix Doubront stymied Toronto over 6 1/3 innings as Boston won for the fifth time in six games to move out of the American League East cellar for the first time this season.

Doubront (6-2) won his second straight start, striking out seven while scattering seven hits and a walk. The sensational performance dropped his ERA to 3.75 while improving him to 2-0 against the Jays on the season.

The Red Sox took a four-run lead in the second inning against Kyle Drabek (4-6). Will Middlebrooks opened the scoring with an RBI single, moving to third on an RBI double by Nick Punto.

Both Middlebrooks and Punto came in to score when Colby Rasmus misplayed what was scored as a base hit for Daniel Nava.

Boston scraped together insurance runs in the fourth and eighth innings, one on a double play and the other on a bases-loaded groundout, before Punto hit a leadoff homer in the ninth.

Jeff Mathis and Jose Bautista hit solo home runs for Toronto, which also got an RBI single from Kelly Johnson and scored again on a Boston error in the eighth inning to make it 6-4.

Drabek lasted 6 2/3 innings, giving up four walks and six hits. He struck out four.
