Orioles 3, Indians 1:
Jim Thome hit his 611th career home run in the seventh inning and Chris Tillman worked 6 2/3 strong frames as visiting Baltimore picked up its fourth straight victory.

Cleveland starter Zach McAllister had faced one batter over the minimum until the seventh inning, when J.J. Hardy led off with a single. Thome followed and got a 1-0 fastball on the outside corner from McAllister, pulling a line drive into the fourth row in right field for a 2-1 lead.

Ryan Flaherty added a solo blast in the eighth inning and Nick Markakis recorded a pair of hits for the Orioles, who have allowed an average of 1.8 runs over the last four contests.

Tillman (2-1) continued the pitching success, allowing one run and six hits while walking one and striking out four. The 24-year old right-hander bounced back after lasting just two-thirds of an inning in his last start.

Tillman’s lone blemish came on the first batter he faced, when Shin-Soo Choo led off the bottom of the first with a solo home run. The blast was his 11th of the season.

Troy Patton got the final out of the seventh and Pedro Strop worked a perfect eighth in front of closer Jim Johnson, who pitched a scoreless ninth for his 29th save.

McAllister (4-2) ended up going 7 2/3 innings and was charged with three runs on five hits. He struck out six and did not walk a batter in snapping a six-start streak without a loss.
