Rangers 7, Orioles 3: Josh Hamilton hit his major league-leading 15th homer as Texas rebounded from losing the opener of Thursday’s doubleheader by winning the nightcap at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

Hamilton, who became the 16th player in major-league history to homer four times in one game Tuesday night, connected for a two-run shot off Baltimore starter Tommy Hunter (2-2) in the top of the first.

Hamilton finished 1-for-4 with a walk and two strikeouts. He leads the majors in average at .395 and RBIs with 38.

Trailing 3-2 after four innings, the high-powered Rangers’ offense took control. Mike Napoli’s triple to right scored Nelson Cruz to tie the game, and Elvis Andrus singled home Napoli to push Texas ahead.

Andrus singled home Mitch Moreland to highlight a a three-run seventh. Andrus finished 2-for-3 with two walks, raising his average to .323.

Texas starter Derek Holland (3-2) pitched well, allowing three runs on four hits in six innings. All three runs were unearned thanks to three Texas errors in the second inning.

Ian Kinsler’s error allowed Adam Jones to reach third base. Jones scored on Wilson Betemit’s sacrifice fly.

Matt Wieters scored on Andrus’ throwing error to tie the game at 2-2. Mark Reynolds came around to score later in the inning on a sacrifice fly by Luis Exposito.

Hunter struck out seven in six innings, giving up four runs on five hits.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Hamilton has hit six homers and driven in 12 runs in his past four games. … The Rangers improved to 13-6 on the road. … Hunter, who was optioned to Triple-A on Monday, was recalled when Baltimore put outfielder Endy Chavez on the 15-day disabled list with a left intercostal muscle strain.
