Chris Davis homered and brought in the go-ahead run, Ian Kinsler had a season-high four hits and the Texas Rangers’ reeling bullpen did enough to pull out a 5-4 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Sunday afternoon at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

With the game tied at 4-4 in the eighth, Adrian Beltre and David Murphy drew walks and Mike Napoli loaded the bases with a check-swing single to right off Angels reliever Rich Thompson (2-1).

The Angels brought in lefty Hisanori Takahashi to face Davis, but he singled to right to bring in Beltre.

That was enough for the Rangers, as Neftali Feliz closed out the game with a scoreless ninth. Reliever Mark Lowe (1-0) earned the victory.

Beltre drilled a 2-1 pitch over the left field fence in the third to give Texas a 3-1 lead. Davis extended the Rangers lead to 4-1 in the fourth with an opposite-field shot.

The Angels rallied with a run in the fifth and two in the sixth. Erick Aybar had a solo shot in the fifth, and then had a two-out, two-run single in the sixth.

Texas starter C.J. Wilson went five-plus innings, allowing four runs (two earned) on six hits with four walks and two strikeouts.

Los Angeles starter Ervin Santana lasted seven innings, allowing four runs on eight hits with a walk and three strikeouts.
