Josh Hamilton hammered a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Texas Rangers a 7-6 victory over the Oakland Athletics on Saturday night.

Elvis Andrus reached on an infield single with two outs and Hamilton followed with his fourth hit of the game when he belted a 2-0 pitch by closer Andrew Bailey (0-2) into the right-field seats as the Rangers won their sixth straight.

Coco Crisp hit a solo homer in the seventh to give the Athletics a 6-5 lead. Josh Willingham added two hits, including his team-leading 11th homer, for the Athletics, who have lost five of their last six.

Darren Oliver (2-5) got the win in relief.

Oakland starter Brandon McCarthy allowed five runs over six innings. It was the second start for McCarthy since coming off the disabled list. He had missed nearly seven weeks with a shoulder injury.

The Athletics scored four runs in the second to take a 4-0 lead, sparked by Willingham's lead-off homer and two-out, RBI singles by Cliff Pennington and Jemile Weeks.

Trailing 5-1, the Rangers tied the game in the fifth. Ian Kinsler’s RBI double got things started and Adrian Beltre capped the rally with a solo home run.
