Mike Fontenot drew a bases-loaded walk with two outs in the 12th inning and Pablo Sandoval followed with a two-run single as the San Francisco Giants recorded a 6-2 victory over the host San Diego Padres on Thursday.

Aubrey Huff led off the ninth with a game-tying homer off Padres closer Heath Bell. The homer was Huff’s first since June 2 and set the stage for San Francisco’s third straight victory.

San Diego reliever Luke Gregerson (2-3) walked Cody Ross and Brandon Crawford to start the 12th and fumbled Eli Whiteside’s sacrifice bunt to load the bases.

Gregerson retired the next two hitters before walking Fontenot on four pitches to force home pinch runner Emmanuel Burriss. Nate Schierholtz and Huff also had run-scoring singles in the five-run 12th as San Diego suffered its sixth straight loss.

Giants reliever Santiago Casilla (2-1) pitched two hitless innings. Brian Wilson got the final two outs for his 27th save of the season.

The Padres took a 1-0 lead in the third on Chase Headley’s run-scoring single. Will Venable’s sacrifice fly in the 12th plated San Diego’s other run.

San Diego’s Aaron Harang allowed just five hits in seven shutout innings. San Francisco starter Madison Bumgarner gave up one run and seven hits in six innings.

Sandoval extended his hitting streak to 22 games.
