Nate Schierholtz led off the bottom of the 14th inning with his second homer of the game to lift the San Francisco Giants to a 6-5 victory over the visiting San Diego Padres on Wednesday.

Schierholtz’s shot off Pat Neshek (1-1) landed on the porch above the right-field fence and bounced into McCovey Cove to break San Francisco’s three-game losing streak.

Javier Lopez (4-1) pitched two perfect innings of relief as the Giants notched their major-league high 10th walk-off victory of the season. San Francisco relievers retired the final 17 Padres.

San Diego led until Pablo Sandoval slammed a two-run, game-tying double off reliever Mike Adams in the eighth to knot the score at 5-5. Sandoval had three RBIs and extended his hitting streak to 17 games.

The two teams combined to strike out 36 times – 19 by the Padres, 17 by the Giants.

San Diego jumped out to a 4-1 lead on Ryan Ludwick’s two-run double in the first, Chase Headley’s sacrifice fly in the third and Jesus Guzman’s double in the fourth. Guzman drove in Cameron Maybin, who tripled.

Schierholtz’s first homer, a two-run shot, pulled the Giants within 4-3 in the fourth.

Dustin Moseley struck out a career-high nine in 7 1/3 innings for San Diego. He allowed four runs and five hits.
