Justin Christian had three hits and a career-high three RBIs as the San Francisco Giants kept their slim postseason hopes alive with an 8-5 win over the host Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday.

The Giants moved 3 1/2 games back in the National League wild-card race and remained 5 1/2 behind Arizona in the National League West with seven games remaining. San Francisco visits the Diamondbacks for a three-game series this weekend.

Brett Pill and Mark DeRosa had two RBIs apiece for the Giants, who had an eight-game win streak snapped Tuesday against the Dodgers’ Clayton Kershaw.

Matt Kemp blasted a three-run homer off Ryan Vogelsong (12-7) in the fifth inning to become the 14th player in major league history with 35 home runs and 40 stolen bases in a single season. It’s the 19th 35/35 season of all time.

Brian Wilson allowed James Loney's RBI single in the ninth inning before recording his 36th save and first since Aug. 13.

Dodgers starter Dana Eveland (2-2) allowed five runs over four innings and lost for the first time in four career starts against the Giants.

Carlos Beltran left the game with a right foot contusion after being hit by an Eveland pitch in the third inning.
