James Loney had the first five-hit game of his career and the Los Angeles Dodgers tied their season-high run total in a 15-1 victory over the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday.

The Dodgers fell two short of their season high with 23 hits and knocked out Pirates starter Brad Lincoln (1-3) in the second inning.

Lincoln gave up six runs in just 1 2/3 innings as Pittsburgh’s starting pitchers worked a combined 7 2/3 innings in the last three games. The Pirates used 24 pitchers during the four-game set.

Dodgers starter Chad Billingsley (11-10) allowed one run over five innings to win for the first time since Aug. 5.

Matt Kemp, who hit his 34th home run in the first inning and came within a triple of hitting for the cycle, was given a standing ovation when he was pulled from the game at the top of the sixth inning.

Loney went 8-for-14 with two homers and nine RBIs during the series. Jerry Sands also capped an impressive series by going 4-for-6 with a home run and four RBIs on Sunday. Sands is batting .556 (15-for-27) over his last seven games.

The Dodgers have won four of their past five games and 10 of their last 13 meetings with the Pirates.
