Nate Schierholtz tied the game with a two-out RBI single in the ninth inning and put San Francisco ahead for good in the 11th with another pure line drive base hit in a 7-5 win in St. Louis Wednesday.

Schierholtz’s ninth-inning shot up the middle handed Fernando Salas his first blown save in 11 tries. The 11th-inning drive to right came off former Cards closer Ryan Franklin (1-4), scoring Freddy Sanchez to make it 6-5.

The game was stopped for 16 minutes in the bottom of the 11th when a bank of lights behind home plate went out. Brian Wilson earned his 15th save despite the delay. Sergio Romo (3-0) tossed a scoreless 10th for the win.

The tying rally began with Aubrey Huff drawing a walk. He also belted a 414-foot homer, his first homer since May 11.

The Cards grabbed a 5-4 lead in the seventh in stunning fashion: pinch hitter Allen Craig drilled a two-run homer off Tim Lincecum into the bullpen. Craig’s blast, giving him 10 RBIs in the last 12 games, followed a hustling triple by Daniel Descalso.

Lincecum was touched for 10 hits in 6 1/3 innings, though he fanned nine.

Ryan Theriot extended his hitting streak to 15 games, ripping a third-inning RBI hit to give the Cards a 1-0 lead. First-place St. Louis will try to salvage a split of the four-game series Thursday.
