Astros 3, Cubs 1: Houston sweeps Cubs; Ramirez hit in face

Michael Bourn singled home a pair of runs in the seventh inning, helping Houston finish off a three-game sweep of the Cubs with a 3-1 victory in Chicago on Wednesday afternoon.

Jeff Keppinger and Chris Johnson singled in the seventh inning to chase Chicago starter Doug Davis (0-4), and after J.R. Towles drew a walk against Kerry Wood, Bourn greeted Sean Marshall with a two-out base hit to right, his second game-winning RBI in as many days.

Houston starter Brett Myers (2-4) gave up a leadoff home run to Kosuke Fukudome in the first inning but allowed just two more hits, striking out three and walking two in six innings. The Astros bullpen held the Cubs without a hit the rest of the way, with Mark Melancon picking up his fourth save. Jason Michaels hit a solo home run in the second inning for Houston, his first of the year.

Davis worked 6 1/3 innings for the Cubs, striking out five and allowing eight hits. Chicago third baseman Aramis Ramirez left the game with a lip laceration in the seventh inning after being hit in the face when Johnson's infield single took a bad hop.
