The Cincinnati Reds took advantage of four Chicago errors to score seven unearned runs and rally for a 7-5 victory over the visiting Cubs on Tuesday night.

After Tony Campana delivered an RBI double in his first major-league at-bat to give the Cubs a 5-3 lead in the eighth, the Reds pushed across four runs against Kerry Wood (1-3) in the bottom half. The first two came on Wood's throwing error on a Ryan Hanigan sacrifice bunt. Chris Heisey's sacrifice fly pushed Hanigan across with the go-ahead run and Joey Votto added an RBI double.

Bill Bray (1-0) retired the last hitter in the eighth, and Nick Masset worked the ninth for his first save.

Carlos Pena had given the Cubs an early cushion in the first inning with a three-run homer against Edinson Volquez, but he helped give that lead away in the fourth.

The Reds had the bases loaded and Volquez at the plate with two outs when a Pena error and a subsequent throwing error by pitcher Matt Garza allowed Cincinnati to score three runs and tie the game.

Garza scattered five hits and four walks in six innings. Volquez struck out nine and allowed three hits in six innings.
