Ryan Zimmerman drove in the winning run and Craig Stammen earned his first major-league win in more than a year as the Washington Nationals inched shaded the New York Mets 3-2 Tuesday night at Citi Field.

Stammen (1-1) inherited a two-on, no-out jam in the sixth but worked out of it without any damage to keep it tied at 2. He then scored the go-ahead run in the seventh to earn his first major-league win since Aug. 4, 2010.

Washington has won three straight for the first time since a four-game winning streak from July 30-Aug. 2.

New York fell to 1-6 on its nine-game homestand.

The Mets led 2-0 until Rick Ankiel and Michael Morse hit RBI doubles in the sixth. Zimmerman greeted Bobby Parnell by grounding an RBI single through the left side to score Stammen with the go-ahead run with two outs in the seventh.

Drew Storen worked around a pair of two-out singles to strike out the side in the ninth for his 36th save. The Nationals' bullpen worked four scoreless innings and has compiled 7 1/3 innings of relief without allowing a run over the first two games of the series.

Mets leadoff man Jose Reyes went 3-for-4 to raise his average to .333. Reyes began the day two points behind Milwaukee's Ryan Braun for the National League lead.
