David Wright hit his first homer and drove in the eventual winning run with a single in the 10th inning, and the New York Mets bounced back from an opening night loss with a 6-4 victory over the host Florida Marlins on Saturday.

Wright, who hit a solo home run in the fourth, singled to center off reliever Ryan Webb (0-1) to score Jose Reyes in the 10th, and Willie Harris added a two-run double later in the inning.

The Mets had a chance to win it an inning earlier, but closer Francisco Rodriguez (1-0) couldn't hold a one-run lead after Josh Thole's RBI single in the top of the ninth off Marlins closer Leo Nunez gave New York a 3-2 lead.

Greg Dobbs' two-out pinch-hit single off Rodriguez tied the game, and the Marlins had the bases loaded before Rodriguez got Omar Infante to pop out to second to end the inning.

Florida took a 2-0 lead in the first on Logan Morrison's two-run single, but Mets starter Jonathon Niese recorded six scoreless innings after that to keep New York in it. Niese allowed two runs on four hits over seven innings, walked one and struck out three.

Wright and Thole each had three hits, Ike Davis was 2 for 3 with an RBI double and Blaine Boyer pitched the 10th for his second career save.

Marlins starter Ricky Nolasco held the Mets to two runs on seven hits over seven innings and struck out four.

Florida outfielder Mike Stanton sat out after straining his left hamstring in Friday's opener.
